Salute to the Sun (Surya Namaskara) In this video Brent takes you through the 24-postures or asanas that comprise "one-round" of Salute to the Sun. Brent will complete 108 rounds or 2,592 postures in this video.
Please DO NOT attempt to do 108 rounds in your first setting. This is a purification practice and requires a healthy diet, fitness and strict breathing in and out the nose only. In order to practice 108 rounds, you need to master your breathing in and out the nose in synchronicity with each movement, and then, slowly increasing the rounds over many months or even years. (Brent has been doing Salute to the Sun almost every day since 1999).
If you begin with between 7 and 21 rounds of Salute to the Sun, this will bless your physical health through stretching all the major muscles, as well as expanding lung capacity and massaging the internal organs. You will quickly see improvements in your mental and emotional wellbeing and many students have virtually eliminated debilitating anxiety (at least 85% of their anxiety and sometimes greater) by doing 21 to 40 rounds every day.
